About this wine

Shinshu no KOSHU 2018 (White) is a Japanese wine with 12% alcohol, crafted by Norano farm & winery in Nagano Prefecture. This 2018 vintage white wine, produced with a unique approach in the cool climate of the Chubu region, is presented under the former name 'Hasumi Farm' from before its renewal.

This winery cultivates 100% Koshu grapes on its own estate, a rarity in the Shinshu area. These grapes are grown in an environment distinct from those in Yamanashi Prefecture, thanks to the high altitude. By using grapes harvested from vineyards that leverage this elevation difference, the wine is designed to possess a robust acidity and a complex depth, resulting in a crisp, dry white wine.

The liquid reflects the cool nuances brought about by the temperature variations characteristic of high-altitude regions, showcasing the diversity of Japanese wine, which stands apart from the typical style found in Yamanashi. This bottle is perfect for moments when you want to delve into the philosophy of this producer, who explores the potential of Koshu cultivation at high altitudes, and to savor the individual characteristics and terroirs of different regions.
