About this wine

From Miyagi Prefecture, MORIUMIUS farm & winery presents "YOKOU YŌKŌ 2023(Orange)", a 2023 vintage orange wine that embodies the winery's unique character. This dry, medium-bodied wine, with 11% alcohol and a 750ml volume, is crafted using Seibel and Delaware grapes cultivated in the Tohoku region.

Hand-picked grapes are quickly destemmed and proceed to natural fermentation. After 14 days of maceration, they are pressed. For the Delaware grapes, both fully ripe and slightly underripe fruit were used. During the two-month aging period, two rackings were performed before bottling without fining, filtration, or added SO2. It boasts a deep amber hue, with citrus aromas reminiscent of refreshing orange peel layered with light and fresh notes. The palate is soft, with fruity flavors accompanied by a distinct acidity, complemented by sweet nuances of apricot and honey, while the tannins balance the entire profile.

Designed to slowly reveal its flavors, this wine supports versatile pairings with a wide range of dishes. This orange wine, born from the natural environment of Tohoku and a meticulous winemaking approach, offers a choice for creating rich moments at the dining table.
