Looking back at the growing season, after flowering in spring, the early rainy season began in late May, but it turned into a dry spell from mid-June, leading to good fruit set. After the rainy season ended in late June, there was little rain and a very hot summer, with veraison starting early in August. Ripening continued under high temperatures and low rainfall, and with the weather cooling down in the mornings and evenings while remaining hot during the day, harvesting began on September 1st, the earliest ever. Despite a slowdown in sugar accumulation due to cloudy and rainy weather in mid-September, the grapes remained in excellent condition until the end of the harvest in late October. The heatwave resulted in grapes with slightly mellow acidity and well-ripened fruit nuances.
