Red wine from Japan — Miyagi, Japan
RYU-Ryu- 2022 (Red)
SENMU winery / Miyagi, Japan

About this wine
On a quiet evening, the red wine from Miyagi Prefecture, crafted by SENMU winery, RYU-Ryu- 2022, is before you. This 2022 vintage is a medium-bodied wine with 11.5% alcohol, made from two grape varieties: Hokujun and Muscat Bailey A. This wine contains absolutely no additives, including added sugar, added acid, or antioxidants.
Hokujun, a vigorous variety with leaves often larger than a person's face, is barrel-aged after extending the harvest season until late October for full ripeness. By blending this with whole-bunch fermented Muscat Bailey A, a sweet aroma derived from Muscat Bailey A can be perceived from the glass. The color is very vibrant, and while you might expect a rich flavor, it's actually crisp and refreshing. It's characterized by a light taste with a shiso-like acidity and a subtly sweet aroma.
How about placing this field blend, long-awaited by vineyard owner Yosuke Akiba and SENMU winery, on your table for a moment of slow red wine enjoyment?
