KOASO Cabernet Sauvignon&Merlot 2022 Timeless Elegance (Red)

In their 9th year of operation, KOASO farm in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, has finally achieved the perfect combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for barrel aging. This 2022 vintage marks their first release of a barrel-aged red wine under the "Koaso" name. 2022, the first hot summer in five years since 2018, saw abundant rainfall until summer, followed by relatively less rain and ample sunshine from August onwards, allowing the grapes to ripen beautifully. From this year, red wine vinification has been entrusted to Curve Hatano in Tomi City, and the label bears the name "Timeless Elegance" to express the essence of this blend.

Mr. Hatano's masterful use of barrels, combined with the ripe Merlot and Cabernet, creates a wine characterized by rich sweetness, smooth acidity, fine tannins, and a long finish. It is a medium-bodied, dry red wine with an alcohol content of 13% and a volume of 750ml. While delicious to enjoy now, it is crafted to develop even greater mellowness over the next five years.
