Red wine from Japan — Ibaraki, Japan
Overdrive 2018 (Red)
BEESNEES vineyards / Ibaraki, Japan

About this wine
From the BEESNEES vineyards in Ibaraki Prefecture, Overdrive 2018 (Red) is a dry Japanese wine crafted as a medium-bodied vintage from 2018. This bottle, embodying the charm of a new production region in the Kanto area, is ready to reach the hands of those seeking it.
This wine is made with 100% Tsukuba City-grown grapes harvested at the foot of Mount Tsukuba, and is produced through contract winemaking using four varietals: Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tannat. The process involves destemming and crushing the fruit, which was stored at 4°C, followed by cold maceration, fermentation, and pressing. This method, which does not utilize barrel aging, allows the character of the raw materials to be brought forth. The alcohol content is 10.5%.
This wine, crafted without relying on oak aromas, directly expresses the terroir of Ibaraki and the composition achieved through the blend of multiple varietals. It is a reliable choice for moments when you want to confirm the current state of red wine production from new regions in Japan, or for dining tables where you wish to engage with the distinct profiles of ingredients alongside your meal.
