About this wine

The name "Verdigno" signifies a style the winemaker aims for, rather than a separate grape variety. HONBŌ shuzō's Château Mars KOSHU Verdignio 2024, named with the Portuguese-derived concept of "fresh green," is a medium-bodied dry white wine made from only the free-run juice of ripe Koshu grapes harvested in the Kofu Basin of Yamanashi Prefecture. It is fermented at low temperatures and bottled, with a volume of 750ml and an alcohol content of 11%.

As stated in the official product description, the approach of using only free-run juice that flows naturally without pressing, and fermenting at low temperatures, leads to a pleasant aroma and acidity, and a fresh, lively taste that evokes the exhilaration of abundant nature and a gentle breeze. Furthermore, retaining a slight effervescence from fermentation is also a feature officially explained.

This 2024 vintage has received a Platinum Award and an Excellence Award, along with the highest Jury Prize in the Koshu category at Kura Master, and a Double Gold at the Sakura Award. Why not contemplate its fresh, lively taste while confirming the information for this vintage, of which 20,000 bottles were produced?
