ENKA USHIKU Rouge 2023 (Red)
USHIKU jōzō / Ibaraki, Japan

About this wine
As you gaze at the words "ENKA USHIKU Rouge 2023" on the label, why not let your thoughts wander to USHIKU jōzō in Ibaraki Prefecture? This is one of the wines from "Ennoka," a new brand by grower-winemaker Rie Sano. After planting grapes in Ushiku City in 2020, this 2023 vintage red wine was born, following its first vintage. It is made from 100% Merlot grown in Ushiku, representing a red wine from three-year-old vines that are just starting to stretch their legs.
